Mossblown is located within the South Ayrshire region, around 5 miles east of Ayr and of Prestwick, with a resident population of around 2,100. The village lies around 35 miles southwest of Glasgow, accessed via the A77/77, with a one hour drive time. Prestwick Airport lies around 6 miles northwest of Mossblown.
The village has local convenience shopping with more additional facilities including an ASDA and M&S in the Heathfield area, around 3 miles west of the village.
The nearby Annbank Primary School serves the village with secondary schools in Ayr and Prestwick, a University and a College in Ayr, and private education facilities at Wellington in Ayr.
The site is located on the northern outskirts of Mossblown, with extensive roadside frontage on to the B743, which connects Ayr with Mauchline to the east.
Description
‘Drumley House’ is the site of a former preparatory school contained with a regular shaped, tree lined boundary with country aspects to the north and east and extensive roadside frontage to the south. The former school building has since been demolished and the site is mostly overgrown in vegetation.
The site extends to an area of 3.16 hectares (7.77 acres), or thereby.
The site falls within the settlement boundary in the South Ayrshire Local Plan and we believe should be suitable for residential uses, subject to obtaining the necessary consents.
