For the third year running, DM Hall LLP is supporting Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS), and the amounts raised by its big-hearted staff through a series of activities are growing rapidly.
DM Hall, one of Scotland’s leading firms of independent chartered surveyors, has now raised £40,000 through its support for CHAS, and the funds just keep rolling in.
The relationship started in March 2014 and, by January last year partners and staff across the firm’s 25 local offices spread across Scotland had gathered in £13,500 for the highly regarded charity. Over the course of 2015, DM Hall trebled that amount.
Eric Curran, managing partner of DM Hall, said: “Our support of CHAS has really caught the imagination across the firm and new activities are being rolled out all the time to keep the momentum going.”
“The £40,000 fundraising we have achieved up till now is a great tribute to the enthusiasm and dedication of the partners and staff, and every pound we raise just makes us determined to raise more.”
CHAS provides the only hospice services in Scotland for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions. The charity supports more than 370 families and is funded mainly through the generosity of supporters who help to raise more than £9 million each year CHAS needs to provide its vital services.
DM Hall’s 250 staff have participated in a huge range of fundraising events to raise money for the charity, including sky dives, bungee jumps, Kiltwalks, cycle races, dress down days and bake sales.
Eric Curran said: “It is one of the more reassuring elements of the human condition that, when disadvantaged or vulnerable people are in need, others will go the extra mile to make their lives just a bit easier.
“Our staff have responded magnificently to CHAS as a worthy community cause in Scotland and they are throwing themselves with enthusiasm into helping realise the huge sums of money that the charity needs to do its vital work.”
CHAS chief executive Maria McGill said: “We are delighted to have the support of DM Hall. The staff have raised a tremendous amount over the past two years and have really taken CHAS to their hearts and undertaken some amazing fundraising on our behalf.
Thanks to everyone at DM Hall for their continued support, it really does make a vital difference to families around Scotland.
