The busy urban area of Stewartfield in East Kilbride has a whole new range of services thanks to an imaginative marketing success by DM Hall, the leading firm of Scottish Chartered Surveyors.
The firm’s Hamilton office has just completed letting the final unit in a new commercial area in McNeish Way, just off Stewartfield Way and next door to Morrisons supermarket on the busy thoroughfare to the north of Scotland’s largest town.
The building, a development which was originally used as a children’s play area, had been closed down for some time until Anthony Zdanowicz and the Hamilton team came up with a plan to transform it for the benefit of local residents.
The DM Hall scheme split the building into six separate units, all of which have now been successfully let. The new tenants include a dentist, a two-storey restaurant, a hair salon, a kitchen door outlet, a Barnardos charity shop and a Chinese take away.
Businesses within the development will benefit from a high and steady footfall from the existing supermarket and car parking is ample and immediately outside.
Anthony Zdanowicz said: “This is exactly the kind of marketing thinking we need to keep urban areas economically active and prosperous, for the ultimate benefit of the community as a whole.
“The building had been empty for some time and was serving no social or commercial purpose. By creating smaller units, which were attractive to a broad range of enterprises, we have helped create a facility which will serve East Kilbride residents for many years to come.”
