Long-serving professional surveyor Gary Duff has been appointed as a director of DM Hall, one of Scotland?۪s largest firms of independent Chartered Surveyors.

The elevation to the higher levels of the respected national firm is the latest honour in a career which has spanned 22 years so far and has taken Gary, 43, through every strand of the profession.

After 10 years as an associate at the firm, Gary, from Uddingston, near Glasgow, was appointed in January of this year to head up the busy Oban office which covers a wide range of activities in Argyll and the Highlands and Islands. He took over from John Miller who, as a consultant, continues to provide sterling service to the firm.

He joined DM Hall as an apprentice chartered surveyor in 1989 and has risen through the ranks, working in the Falkirk and Kirkintilloch offices before moving to Oban in 1996.

He said: “I have been privileged to have had a fulfilling and exciting career with one of the most professional firms in the country and I am deeply honoured to have been appointed as a director.”

As well as being a major provider of Home Reports and mortgage valuations, Gary and his team at Oban also provide homes and businesses with Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs). He also undertakes an element of commercial property survey work backed up when necessary by DM Hall’s commercial property teams in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
