Michael McDonald, an Associate in the Elgin office DM Hall LLP, one of Scotland’s largest independent firms of chartered surveyors, has been charged with taking the office forward following the retirement of long-serving partner, Brian Findlay, who will leave the firm at the end of March.
Senior Partner at DM Hall, Keith Jones, said: “Elgin and its surrounding area is an important territory for the firm. The area presents a diverse and challenging marketplace and we believe that Mike McDonald is the man to build on our established reputation developed under Brian Findlay’s time in charge.”
“Brian opened the Elgin office in March 1987 and it has since gone from strength to strength. He has been a stalwart professional and a highly-valued partner in the business.”
Michael McDonald, who joined DM Hall as a graduate trainee in 2002, said: “The Elgin office is well placed to meet today’s challenges, with three surveyors specialising in residential survey and valuation work. Last year the firm also appointed Andy Gray, a commercial property surveyor, to carry out professional and agency work from our offices in Elgin and Inverness.
We will continue to provide a high quality professional service to our clients and maintain the excellent legacy left by Brian.”
Brian Findlay, a native of Aberdeenshire, will continue to live in Elgin after his retirement: “It’s a lovely area with a temperate climate and a great quality of life. I’m interested in the outdoors and Elgin and its surrounding area is perfect for walking and cycling” he said.
