It is International Women?۪s Day today and we have asked one of our female surveyors, Natalie Ogg from our Edinburgh office, to share some of her DM Hall experiences.

How long have you been at DM Hall?

Natalie: It will be 10 years this July.  I can’t quite believe it will be a decade of work but I am proud of my time here so far.

Why did you choose the field of surveying?

Natalie: For as long as I can remember I had a keen interest in buildings and properties in general and that is why I decided to study it at Napier University.

What happened after you completed your university studies?

Natalie: I chose to enter the graduate programme at DM Hall, mainly due to the fact that they are such a well-known name in the industry. It certainly was the right choice as they have supported me throughout my training in becoming a Chartered Surveyor

Surveying could be seen as a predominately male industry?

Natalie: Yes, you could say that. But I can honestly say at DM Hall I haven’t experienced any detrimental factors to this and the firm have been exceptionally encouraging at all levels. In terms of our clients, many are females, so it is a great balance in the team.

What’s next?

Natalie: Over the years, I have really enjoyed developing my experience and becoming more independent. I very much look forward continuing this at DM Hall and the next 10 years!
