Two traditional Scottish pubs which are landmarks within their local communities have been successfully marketed and sold by DM Hall.
The hostelries are at opposite ends of the country – one in the far north on the banks of the Dornoch Firth and the other in the historic town of Bo’ness on the south shore of the Firth of Forth.
The Dornoch Bridge Inn has for years served an essentially rural community which is renowned for its natural beauty and its diversity of wildlife, including the nearby Moray Firth dolphins.
The former hotel premises near Meikle Ferry have bar and function facilities as well owners’ accommodation extending to three apartments. The Inn was offered at a reduced price of o/o £135,000.
The Cross Keys, a former pub in North Street, Bo’ness, occupies an enviable town centre location and attracted bidders with its potential for alternative use subject to consent. It was offered at a fixed price of £50,000 and will now be converted for use as a funeral directors.
Suzanne Lawrie, of DM Hall’s Edinburgh office, said: “Both these properties have been well-known traditional pubs and will now have a new lease of life either as licensed premises or in another use.”
The sales further illustrate DM Hall’s prominent position in licensed premises activity.
