DM Hall responds to latest Registers of Scotland figures

While the newspaper headlines shout that average house prices have fallen in the last quarter, the real finding is that the number of sales continued to rise.
This is an important and positive factor to the Scottish property market, as average prices were increasing due to a lack of supply. If this trend had continued it would make for a unsustainable and unaffordable market for many.
The fact more houses are being sold should bring the average house price back towards equilibrium which in the end can only be a positive adjustment for the market.
