A small Scottish hotel which epitomises the spirit of “the local” for its surrounding community, The Commercial Hotel in Larbert, Stirlingshire, has been sold by DM Hall, one of Scotland’s largest firms of independent chartered surveyors, to local couple, Mark and Gemma Barnett.
Sited on a busy and historic crossroads, the landmark venue, with its distinctive, traditional Scottish appearance of whitewashed stone and slate roof, occupies a prominent position where the thoroughfares of Larbert Main Street, the road to Denny and the road to Scotland’s historic capital of Stirling all meet.
The Commercial Hotel attracts its custom with a classic public bar, a games room and a beer garden. It also has six letting bedrooms on the first floor, occupied by contractors and students from the nearby Forth Valley Hospital.
The Commercial Hotel draws its loyal clientele from the surrounding area. Larbert is a town with a proud manufacturing and engineering past. It lies between Falkirk, the administrative hub and the village of Stenhousemuir. It is now a popular commuter residence with fast motorway and rail links to Scotland’s main cities.
Suzanne Lawrie of DM Hall, who secured the sale, said: “Mark and Gemma are totally committed to making a huge success of the Commercial Hotel and we believe absolutely that they will do so.”
