Year-long partnership will see DM Hall staff fundraise and volunteer their time to assist SAMH’s mission to improve Scots’ mental health
DM Hall, one of Scotland’s leading firms of independent chartered surveyors, has selected SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health) as one of its new corporate charity partners for the next twelve months.
The partnership reflects the firm’s long-standing commitment to supporting positive mental health and wellbeing among its staff and within the wider communities it serves.
The decision to support SAMH, which has been dedicated to supporting mental health in Scotland since 1923 and operates around 70 services in communities across the country, follows an internal nomination process among DM Hall’s team members.
SAMH’s appeal resonated strongly due to the increasing importance of accessible, compassionate mental health support.
DM Hall’s Marketing Manager, Stephanie Stewart, who recently visited The Nook in Glasgow, the first in SAMH’s revolutionary national network of walk‑in mental health and wellbeing hubs, said: “We are pleased to name SAMH as one of our new corporate charity partners.
“Its work aligns closely with our ongoing efforts to support good mental health within DM Hall and across the communities where we operate.
“As part of this commitment, every DM Hall colleague will have the opportunity to volunteer to work one day a year with SAMH, whether that involves helping with activities, supporting wellbeing sessions or participating in fundraising events. We are looking forward to making a meaningful and positive contribution.”
Welcoming the partnership Michelle Forfar, of SAMH’s Corporate Partnerships team, said: “We are delighted that DM Hall has chosen SAMH as its new charity partner. We appreciate the firm’s commitment to promoting mental health, through volunteering staff time as well as raising both money and awareness.
“The funds raised through our partnership will go towards vital mental health support services in communities throughout Scotland. We look forward to working closely together over the next year to promote better wellbeing for all.”
The Nook from SAMH supports young people from the age of ten, families and adults. Anyone is welcome to walk in to chat about mental health and wellbeing, seven days a week. In its calm and welcoming atmosphere, visitors can meet skilled SAMH colleagues for relaxed conversations, access practical resources, take part in wellbeing activities, attend workshops and training sessions, or speak with a trainee psychologist.
Over the course of the twelve-month partnership, DM Hall will take part in a series of fundraising initiatives, volunteering days and monthly wellbeing-focused sessions inspired by the work delivered at The Nook and by SAMH’s wider network of services.
