A property which previously housed a Beanscene café at 1-3 Helena Place, Clarkston on Glasgow’s southside, has been sold by DM Hall, acting on behalf of a private client.
The Beanscene branch closed in 2014 and has since seen several incarnations, most recently as the Stables café.
The 3,150 sq. ft. licensed premises, located on a busy thoroughfare in one of the city’s more affluent suburbs, is set to re-open as a bar-bistro later this year. Offers in excess of £300,000 were sought for the property.
Alister Gibson of DM Hall, who was responsible for its marketing, said: “There was a significant degree of interest in this property, not least because of the relative dearth of available restaurant/ bar premises in what is regarded as an affluent suburb”.
The new owners, who operate the successful Loks Bar & Kitchen in Glasgow’s Newlands and Allison Arms in Strathbungo, have applied for planning permission to undertake a major refurbishment of the property to install a new bar with an upstairs bistro.
Subject to planning approval being obtained they expect to open their new venue in summer 2018.
