DM Hall continues to bring on fresh talent with appointment of graduate residential surveyors.
DM Hall, one of Scotland’s leading firms of independent Chartered Surveyors, has reinforced its commitment to nurturing new talent within the profession by appointing two young graduate surveyors in its Glasgow and Edinburgh offices.
These appointments are in line with the firm’s strategy of seeking top quality candidates to continue to strengthen its busy city offices. Both recruits graduated in Property Management and Valuation from Glasgow Caledonian University.
In the West, Kenneth Geddes, 21, joined the firm’s thriving Glasgow North office and will provide additional support to the residential team.
Kenneth said: “I carried out work placements in surveying firms during my three years at university and I became aware of DM Hall’s strong reputation in the profession. I’m already one year into my APC professional qualification and hope to complete this in November 2014.
“I am assisting the residential surveyors on Home Reports and other residential surveys, gaining practical experience across a range of skills, from identifying housing defects through to learning more about the valuation process.”
Across in the East, 24 year-old Omar Khan joined the Edinburgh residential team, based at the firm’s Head Office on Corstorphine Road.
Omar said: “The course at Glasgow Caledonian is the only one of its kind in Scotland and my lecturer there pointed me towards DM Hall as one of the most respected firms in the country.
“A significant part of my training at university was on the commercial side, but this role has allowed me to focus more on residential properties and this has really caught my interest.
“By working with the residential partners, I am able to develop a wide range of skills, as I build a broader knowledge of the Home Report and other surveys, along with the myriad of different property types in the Edinburgh market. I hope to gain the APC professional qualification by 2015.”
Keith Jones, DM Hall’s senior partner, said: “The firm is very pleased to have secured the services of two such talented young men and we are sure they will fulfil their promise and contribute greatly in their new and well-deserved roles as graduate surveyors.
“I am confident that everyone in the firm will join me in congratulating them on taking the first steps on what will certainly be very rewarding careers.”
