The Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) is to be the first community investment partner for DM Hall LLP, one of Scotland’s leading firms of independent chartered surveyors.
CHAS, a charity that provides the only hospice services in Scotland for children and young people with life-shortening conditions, supports over 350 families in Scotland. It is funded mainly through the generosity of supporters who help to raise over £9 million each year to permit it to provide its vital services.
Eric Curran, managing partner of DM Hall, said: “There can be no more worthy community cause in Scotland than CHAS and with our 150 staff in 27 local offices spread across Scotland, we have decided to lend a hand to the enormous annual effort which goes into raising the huge sums of money CHAS needs to do its vital work.”
“We have committed to focusing our efforts this year on undertaking a series of events, challenges, fun-runs and sporting encounters to raise just a portion of the £9 million CHAS needs.”
On a recent visit to the Robin House CHAS hospice in Balloch on 4th March, Mr Curran was shown round the many facilities it provides and spoke to a number of children, parents and staff.
He said: “I challenge anyone to come here and not be inspired by the levels of care, kindness and sheer celebration of life which is in evidence within these walls.”
“This will be the message I will be taking back to all my colleagues to motivate them to do their utmost in their efforts to help raise funds for CHAS.”
Gillian Levy, Relationship Manager at CHAS, said: “CHAS is delighted to be DM Hall’s first ever charity partner. We are really excited about the partnership and look forward to working together over the year.”
