The swing o’ the kilt, the skirl of the pipes and nearly £2500 raised to help vulnerable children – that was the great achievement by DM Hall’s magnificent men and bonnie lasses from Aberdeenshire this month (June 1).

Ten brave and big-hearted colleagues from DM Hall’s Aberdeen and Inverurie offices took on the gruelling challenge of the Aberdeen Kiltwalk – and came home tired and blistered but victorious.

Their sterling efforts on the scenic walk, from Aberdeen to the picturesque hamlet of Potarch on the River Dee, were rewarded with £2350 for the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS), DM Hall’s chosen charity.

Seven kilted heroes and heroines completed the full 26-mile trek – Stuart Johnston, Colin Hepburn, Claire Crawford, Felicity Forbes-Davidson, Peter Thatcher, Katrina Argo and Jill Clelland. Three managed the Wee Walk of eight miles – Iain Gove, Barry McGhee and Laurence Neil.

Stuart Johnston, commercial partner at Aberdeen, said: “The Kiltwalk is quite a challenge – 26 miles is a long hike. But we were supported so well by colleagues friends and family that the day passed quickly and in good spirits.”

Colin Hepburn, residential partner at Inverurie, said: “It was a great day with a real team spirit – we wanted to raise as much as possible for CHAS, which provides Scotland’s only hospice service for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.”
