DM Hall brings Edinburgh city offices together

DM Hall, one of the leading firms of independent Chartered Surveyors in Scotland, is bringing all its Edinburgh based staff together on a single site for the first time in many years.

The firm was founded in 1897 by David Malcolm Hall at premises on Montrose Terrace. The business has expanded throughout Scotland and now operates its multi- disciplinary services from 25 locations across the country.

The office in Murrayburgh House at 17 Corstorphine Road has accommodated DM Hall’s residential survey and valuation service and all its Head Office functions for the past 10 years. The firm has taken on an extra 3000 sq ft of space in the building and the premises will undergo a substantial refurbishment.

The office will now also house commercial valuation, commercial agency, rating, building surveying and rural practice (Baird Lumsden) services which, until now, have been located at 15 Alva Street, Edinburgh.

Twenty-five personnel will move from Alva Street to join the existing complement of 30 in Corstorphine Road.

Keith Jones, Senior Partner of DM Hall, said: “This is a significant move for the firm and demonstrates our willingness to invest in the future. Our policy of having skilled teams in place within the areas they serve is the best way of providing the highest quality of service and professionalism to our clients.

“Bringing our Edinburgh departments together under one roof in improved and more spacious offices will improve communications and lead to enhanced efficiency. It gives us the opportunity to provide clients with a wide range of service from a single location.”

The move took place on Friday 21 November and services to clients will remain unaffected.
