The Waterside, one of the most popular hostelries in the historic market town of Strathaven, is set to change hands following an instruction to DM Hall Chartered Surveyors to market the bustling pub and restaurant.
A favourite with both locals and the many visitors who flock to the Lanarkshire destination, the Waterside has been family owned for the past nine years and is a centrepiece of the Gala Week celebrations, particularly on Parade Day when the whole community turns out to watch the celebrations.
Built in the 1980s and extended and enhanced over the years, the two-storey traditional property at 31 Waterside Street has one of the most enviable locations in the former weaving village, with a large and welcoming beer garden looking across the burn to attractive parks and gardens.
Strathaven, nestling in the valley of the River Avon and within an easy drive of Glasgow and Edinburgh, has become a recognised day trip destination and the Waterside benefits from year-round trade which peaks in the summer months.
