Iconic Bellahouston Academy brought back to life by clients of DM Hall

The original Bellahouston Academy, where legendary bass guitarist, Jack Bruce, actor Jimmy Logan, football pundit Chic Young and thousands of other Glaswegians were educated, is being marketed as newly-refurbished high-quality office accommodation by DM Hall, one of Scotland leading independent firms of Chartered Surveyors

The Grade B listed school building, now the Bellahouston Business Centre, sits on Paisley Road West on the south side of Glasgow. Extensively refurbished throughout to high spec office accommodation, it opened in January this year and has already achieved 50 per cent occupancy.

Accommodation is available for lease as a whole or in individual suites ranging from 401 to 658 square feet with a minimum rental term of twelve months. Suites can be combined to create larger floor areas.

Visitors are greeted at a staffed reception desk, which is set in a central atrium. In total 28 office suites are situated on two floors around the perimeter of the central atrium. Meeting rooms are available on request and there is extensive car parking for tenants and visitors

Bellahouston Academy was designed by Glasgow architect, Robert Balde and opened, initially as a private school, in 1876. In 1962 it was replaced by a new school building in Gower Terrace but continued as an annexe until it was finally closed in 2009.

Further information on lease terms is available from the letting agents David Reid and Michael MacLeod of DM Hall.

David Reid said: “We are delighted to announce 50% occupancy within the first half of 2016 and we are sure this will continue to rise. The rate of take-up is testament to our client’s first class refurbishment of the building and their dedication to providing flexible and affordable accommodation to SME’s.”
