After another year of success and increased activity in the local market, the Galashiels office of property specialists DM Hall Chartered Surveyors has moved to bigger and more prominent premises in the Border town.
The office, headed by DM Hall Partner Richard Clowes, has transferred from 150 St Andrew Street in Galashiels to premises at 38 Island Street which are nearly four times the size.
The new office has also much higher profile, situated as it is on a busy road which affords greater visibility.
Richard Clowes said: “A move of this nature is always a challenging time and it’s all hands on deck as we finalise the packing, maintain communications with our clients and prepare the new facility.
“Island Street will give us so much more potential and flexibility, as well as dramatically increased storage capacity. It will draw greater attention to the firm with its position on a busy throughfare.”
The Galashiels office of DM Hall houses four staff – two surveyors and full-time and part-time administrative personnel. The office has been increasingly busy since the opening of the Borders Railway, the longest new domestic railway to be constructed in Britain for more than 100 years.
The railway, which cost £294 million to construct and is expected to deliver at least £33 million of benefits to the local economy, has been one significant driver of property activity in the area.
Mr Clowes said: “There is a lot more happening in the Borders and there is a great deal of optimism, especially among agents who are reporting a healthy and thriving market with good sales.
“As we settle into our new Island Street home, DM Hall will continue to show that it has the expertise, experience and unrivalled market knowledge clients need to make the right decisions.”
