DM Hall LLP is renewing its commitment as a community investment partner to The Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS).
The firm has raised over £13,500 since it entered into partnership with CHAS in March last year and partners and staff across its 25 local offices spread across Scotland are keen to surpass that total in the coming year.
CHAS, a charity that provides the only hospice services in Scotland for children and young people with life-shortening conditions, supports more than 350 families in Scotland. It is funded mainly through the generosity of supporters who help to raise more than £9 million each year to permit it to provide its vital services.
DM Hall’s 230 staff participated in a huge range of fundraising events over the course of 2014 – many of which took them well outside their comfort zones. For instance, Eric Curran, managing partner of DM Hall, braved a bungee jump in August from the 164-foot Titan Crane at Clydebank – dressed as BananaMan.
Colleagues from Aberdeen and Inverurie raised over £2500 on the gruelling challenge of the Aberdeen Kiltwalk and our EPC expert Mark O’Neill took part in the “Hell of the North” road cycle race in France. Dress down days and bake sales helped raise funds throughout the year.
Eric Curran said: “There can be no more worthy community cause in Scotland than CHAS and my colleagues have thrown themselves with enthusiasm into raising the huge sums of money CHAS needs to do its vital work.
“We are delighted to commit to another year of activities and events which we hope will go some small way to contributing to the £9 million a year which CHAS needs to carry on its invaluable work.”
CHAS chief executive Maria McGill said: “Firms such as DM Hall make it possible for CHAS to continue delivering specialist care to babies, children and young people with life limiting conditions, across Scotland.
“It’s great to know they’ve chosen to continue as our community investment partner. The commitment and support their staff have shown us is fantastic and we’re looking forward to strengthening our partnership with them in 2015.”
